For sale, I have a 1997 90 HP Honda Outboard. The motor is an extra long shaft 25". The motor starts and runs. Runs pretty decent, but does have an occasional cough/sneeze. It did seem to get better the longer I ran it. this is very typical with the carbureted honda outboards. The motor pumps water strong. It has one fairly major issue. The splines of the driveshaft on the lower unit are stuck in the powerhead, so the lower unit wont drop down. It could probably be run for many years until the waterpump fails, but getting the lower unit to drop can be a significant job. The power trim does work. The "starter pulley" seen in the diagram in the last picture has a bend in it. I believe it happened it transport. Its 0 brand new and much cheaper used on ebay.
It still runs fine but has a pretty significant wobble in that part while running.
The hood is missing the front latch. The motor may need some TLC here and there in addition to what I already described but it does start and run. This motor was part of a pair of honda 90s that were used on a catamaran hull. I believe they were brought in for service and then traded in for new engines when the previous owner discovered the lower unit was stuck. The motor was in use up until that point.
I am selling the engine AS IS.
I do have a video of it running for anyone interested just send me a way to contact you with the video. I cant send a video through ebay messages.
